The Saga is a must see light show that is played on the front of the San Fernando Cathedral in the plaza and has music to it. The Saga tells a great story about the church and the history of Texas. The plaza square is a large area that has a few tables with chairs that are chained down to sit at any time and are most popular for the light show. The plaza area is also always very clean and usually quiet. The light show can be seen Tuesday through Sunday at 9pm and 930pm. I would definitely recommend seeing The Saga and I would go again when in San Antonio.
This was a really cool experience. Essentially a movie is projected onto an old church. The imagery seems to tell the story of San Antonio's history. I would have appreciated some narration since I'm not very familiar with the history. I was left with a lot of questions.
A must visit location/event while in San Antonio which is at no cost at the San Fernando Cathedral. The musical light show displays the history of Texas and San Antonio in a very artistic and entertaining manner. The places to sit fill up fast so recommend arriving a little early.
A beautiful light and music show. A definite must see.
This was a really big treat to see. Apparently even most of the locals don't know about it and its been there for over a decade. Only 20 min long in an outdoor setting. There are several viewings several days a week. Free just find a spot and enjoy the show.
It was beautiful but (IT IS A HISTORY LIGHT SHOW) so it’s period music and. Imaging. I thought i was a story entangled but it’s a series of historic images.
Definitely worth it (free). Hi res projection to music displaying history and culture of San Antonio. Some food and drinks available. Felt safe for kids. Some tables and chairs are available around plaza. Show is about half hour runs at 9 and 9:30
The show is alright. Feel bad giving it a lower rating since it's someone's art and the show is nice but it doesn't seem to have a story? It's just pictures and music. It's free and shows are at 9:00 9:30 and 10:00 on certain days. Check their website for certain.
My husband and I attended The Saga lightshow at the San Fernando Cathedral on a Tuesday evening at 9:00 PM. What an amazing lightshow. It pains homage to the history of San Antonio, Texas as a whole, and its Mexican heritage. It is a free …
Fabulous show highlighting the history, people, and culture of San Antonio. Such a fascinating concept to project the show on San Fernando Cathedral! Definitely worth seeing, whether you're a local or when visiting SAT.
